Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do I start?
A: We suggest you contact us to discuss your project, as well as
schedule a private tour of a Timberpeg® home currently under
construction. You can call our office at 916-624-9725 Monday
through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., appointments can be made on the weekend
if needed.
Q: How much will a Timberframe home cost?
A: Of course there are many factors that will determine the overall cost
of your home, such as the location of your home site, the county/city permit
fees, and the many components that are available to build into your
home. We will sit down with you prior to signing any contracts and
go over step by step your Free Cost Estimate Checklist to make sure that
you have all of the information necessary to make a decision as big as
building a custom home.
Q: How are Timberpeg®Homes Energy
Efficient?
A: There are many factors that can make a home Energy Efficient -
starting with the construction. Timberpeg®
Post & Beam Homes typically use SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels) in
order to give solid insulation as opposed to 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 framed walls
with conventional insulation. The SIPs also offer a sound barrier
creating a comfortable & peaceful indoor climate.
Timber Frame homes use significantly less lumber than conventional "stick built" homes and keep construction waste to a minimum. You can learn more about "Green Building Timber Homes"
here.Q: Can you help me find a custom home site?
A: Yes! Michael Bouchard is a licensed Real Estate Broker
and can do a personalized search for a custom home lot that will not
only fit the home you wish to build but will also fit the needs of you
and your family.
Q: Do you have plans available?
A: We have a library of plans available to choose from or use as a
"jumping off point" to create a home that will work best. We also
have an in-house designer as well as relationships with local
architects to create a home that is truly custom.
Q: How long will it take to
build my Timber Frame Home?
A: The entire construction process can take from 8 to 12 months barring
any weather problems than can arise. We typically like to start
your building process by designing your project a few months prior to
the desired start date. This way we can design and revise plans as
needed and pull permits and still allow for the best weather to build.
